The path that runs along the old Ponale road is passable on foot or by bicycle and offers an incomparable view of Lake Garda.
This spectacular road overlooking the lake was transformed into a trail in 2004 connecting Riva del Garda to Valle di Ledro and is recognized as one of the most beautiful European trails thanks to its environmental and historical features.
Starting from the center of Riva del Garda, follow the coast passing near the historic hydroelectric power station, and once you have crossed the Gardesana Orientale road you will find yourself immersed in a spectacular path surrounded by rock walls and small tunnels.
We must pay particular attention because this path develops in a mountain environment impervious and devoid of any protection, so it is good practice to remember to stay on the marked routes avoiding shortcuts and especially wear appropriate equipment and clothing.
Unfortunately, despite the great beauty of the surrounding environment it is not advisable to take the Ponale path with strollers and prams.
