Rocca di Manerba

ROCCA DI MANERBA

The “Rocca di Manerba” is situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking the lake Garda, in the Brescia side.

On the top, in a spectacular location, you will find the remains of the medieval castle known as “Rock”, surmounted by a large cross shows three circuits of defensive walls dating from the twelfth or thirteenth century ..

Everything is in a green area of about 90 hectares of land called the protected Natural Park of Manerba Rock, a true paradise for lovers of trekking and bird watching.

The park is characterized by a great variety of plant species, including native Mediterranean plants and botanical rarities such beautiful wild orchids: in a relatively small space many plants belonging to different climates coexist thanks to the presence of the lake.

We recommend a visit to the Museum of the Fortress, which houses in its interior the Archaeological Museum of Valtenesi.

Rocca di ManerbaIn the natural history section you can admire the stunning photographs by tree species and wildlife that inhabit the park; in the archaeological section, however, retraces the historical phases of the Copper site to the Middle Ages, through the observation of the finds from archaeological excavations of the fortress, Shelter Valtenesi, the piles of San Sivino and the Parish of St. Mary.
