Marmitte dei Giganti di Nago

The “Marmitte dei Giganti” are wells of glacial origin formed by the erosion caused by the melting waters of the ice that descending into the crevasses have caused a whirling motion of pebbles transforming the rock below.

These cavities have a diameter ranging from 4 to 5 meters and a depth that can reach up to 12 meters.

Inhabited in prehistoric times as witnessed by findings of arrowheads and fragments of cermaica dated between the 4th and 3rd millennium BC, the Marmitte dei Giganti are accompanied by other karst and natural phenomena of the area such as the striated and rambling rocks and the jump glacial.
